LIENS – NEGOTIATIONS / SETTLEMENTS

A lien can be placed voluntarily or involuntarily against real or personal property.  A voluntary lien, such as a mortgage, would be released when the debt is paid off (satisfied) and a Satisfaction of Mortgage if then recorded by the lender (lien holder).  An involuntary lien that is placed against real or personal property, typically as a result of a judgment, would only be released once the debt underlying the lien is satisfied (or settled).  Failure to satisfy a lien can result in unnecessary collection costs, damage to your credit, bankruptcy, or even loss of the property.  If you are a borrower / debtor or business owner that has had one or more liens placed against real or personal property that you own and you are interested in getting them satisfied then please call Brian M. Rokaw, P.A. to schedule a free no obligation consultation – (305) 722-5888.
